Passo Dello Stelvio: We did it!

For the past seven months, 10 Accenture women and men have been training hard to cycle up Passo Dello Stelvio. On June 16, they all reached the top of this mythical mountain pass while raising awareness on clean air. A fantastic result!

None of our Fit At Work Ambassadors were cycling pros when they embarked on this challenge. Some had never been on a race bike before. But by committing to making a lifestyle switch and building their physical condition, they have accomplished this legendary ride in the Northern Italian Alps.

Supported and coached by our partner Energy Lab, they have become a powerful team, regularly training together at weekends to build stamina and spirit. Also inspiring them on D-Day was their commitment to raising awareness on clean air as part of the Belgian initiative Climbing for Life.

Because to have an even greater impact, all our Fit At Work efforts are linked to achieving a social goal. In 2017, we reached a collective target of 250,000 km to raise money for micro-entrepreneurs around the world. In 2018, our Ambassadors together more than 700 colleagues belonging to our Fit At Work community exceeded this goal to reach 275,000 km via swimming, biking, running, and daily steps, representing a reduction of 30,000 KG C02 as part of Accenture’s mission to reduce carbon emissions per employee.

Wellness from A to Z

All year round, Accenture’s Fit At Work program gives our people in Belgium & Luxembourg free access to work/life balance and nutrition tips, training plans and activity tracking via a digital platform, augmented by sports and nutrition workshops with experts and a vibrant program of 20 sporting events, for enthusiasts and beginners alike. Since 2016, 31 women and men of all ages from across our practice in Belgium & Luxembourg – have volunteered to be Fit At Work Ambassadors, acting as role models to inspire and activate colleagues to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
